"Baby Bilby and the Wildcat" By Lyndall Stavrou
"Baby Bilby and the Wildcat" is a gentle yet impactful picture book that captures the heart of the Australian Outback through poetic storytelling and vivid illustration. The narrative follows Baby Bilby, an endangered nocturnal marsupial, as it navigates the harsh landscape and the threat of a feral wildcat.
Interwoven in the tale is an Indigenous boy, whose presence connects the story to Country and reflects the vital role of First Nations communities in environmental stewardship.
This book is part of the Bilby Series, designed to educate children about Australian wildlife and ecological balance in a way that is accessible, meaningful, and beautifully told. Additional bilby facts on the back further enrich the educational value for young readers and educators.
Perfect for classroom settings, home libraries, and nature-themed storytimes.
