Kirra Somerville is a Martu woman from the Western Desert region of Western Australia. At just nine years old, she authored The Lizard Gang, which went on to win the 2004 WA Children's Book Council of Australia 'Make Your Own Storybook Competition.' Kirra is the daughter of Martu storyteller Craig Somerville, and her writing is grounded in a deep respect for culture, community and connection to Country. Her debut book showcases not only youthful creativity but also the strength of intergenerational storytelling.
