'Djinang Bonar Seeing Seasons' By Ebony Froome, Leanne Zilm (Illustrator)
Step into the rhythm of Country with Djinang Bonar—a beautifully illustrated picture book that introduces children to the six Noongar seasons through both English and Noongar language. Created by emerging First Nations creators Ebony Froome and Leanne Zilm, this book is a celebration of culture, language, and the deep knowledge First Nations people hold about the environment.
Perfect for homes, classrooms, and libraries, Djinang Bonar invites readers to observe the subtle shifts in nature—like blooming plants, animal behaviours, and weather patterns—that signal each season. With rich, vibrant illustrations and accessible language learning opportunities, this book offers a meaningful way to connect with Noongar Country and foster cultural understanding from an early age.
