"It has provided the children with a better insight into Australian Natives but this time with the integration of the way Native animals and plants work together. It was thought provoking as the children were able to see how the Banksia flower was able to nourish the wildlife and Indigenous Australian’s throughout time and how they would source the sweet nectar from the plants before using the seed/seed pods as they fell away from the tree.
It has also prompted the children to want to investigate further with the collection of Banksia flowers from their environment and planting our own seeds in the hope to grow our very own tree."
