David Hardy is a Barkindji man from Brewarrina, New South Wales. He is an Indigenous artist with over eight years of feature film animation experience at Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he worked on 12 animated feature films, including The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata, Tarzan II, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, and Return to Neverland.
After his time at Disney, David returned to Australia to pursue a career in children's book illustration and authorship. He is the author and illustrator of the Alfie series, including Alfie’s Search for Destiny and Alfie’s Big Wish, published by Magabala Books. David is passionate about creating stories that reflect his culture and experiences, aiming to inspire and educate young readers.
