Dear Koori Curriculum,

Do you have any suggestions for embedding Indigenous Perspectives with school age children at OSHC?

We are doing what we can at the moment and are beginning to collect additional resources to support our endeavor but I would love to hear your thoughts as we quite often hit a brick wall.

Hey Sharnie,

Thanks for reaching out, Whilst our consultancy is early childhood focussed a lot of our content and principles can be transferred and are applicable to OOSHC programs.

If you are at the very beginning of your journey I would recommend doing some of our workshops particularly our Embedding Aboriginal Perspectives webinar.

This has lots of easy and practical way to get you started on the right path.

If possible I recommend doing training with your whole team. Collectively engaging in professional development really does help to get everyone on the same page and create momentum with your Aboriginal programs.

In the meantime I suggest having a listen to Season Three of our Educator Yarns podcast particularly episodes 6 and 8 which should give you a bit of an idea about our approach. Let me know what you think.
