Through her mother’s line, she identifies as a Mamu Aboriginal woman from the Dugul-barra and Waribarra clans of the Johnstone River catchment and the Great Barrier Reef sea country. Her art combines vibrant textures and colours that reflect the flora, fauna and waters of her home. Her work is widely celebrated for connecting young readers with Country in a meaningful and artistic way.
